The latest team news suggests Ajax have a triple injury boost for their clash with Liverpool at Anfield today. The Dutchman may fancy their chances.
The latest team news is good news for Ajax. They’re set for a triple injury boost as they named three doubtful players in their squad for the Anfield tie.
The Dutchman crushed FC Emmen 5-0 away from home at the weekend – but at a cost. Both Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch went off injured in the game, immediately making them touch-and-go for Tuesday.
But both players make the Ajax squad to face Liverpool.
On top of that, Daley Blind is back in the squad, too. He missed the Emmen fixture but is appears he’s good to go at Anfield.
“We’ll have some more training but, as it looks, they look to be in good fitness,” said boss Erik ten Hag.
What RTK has to say
Well, good for them. If only Liverpool could welcome back a trio of players for the game – but they’re not so lucky.
The ‘good news’ for Liverpool is that’s there’s only one new injury in the last few days. James Milner will miss the game after going off against Brighton, but we all expected he would do.
Jordan Henderson is fine, apparently, and Joel Matip should be fresh-ish after missing the fixture at the AMEX.
That’s about as good as Liverpool can do, unfortunately. It doesn’t sound like anyone else will be back after Naby Keita missed training on Monday.

The best Liverpool can do is win this game, qualify, and make next week’s clash with Midtjylland a dead-rubber.
The injury crisis makes dealing with a packed fixture list much tougher, after all. But Ajax’s good fortune won’t help in that regard – they’ve got nearly an entire squad to pick from.
