Liverpool are in an unusually drab run of form. The Reds have been below their best for the past week. We can chalk this up mostly to the heavily rotated sides we’ve seen take to the field. Despite the stuttering displays, the side are still top of the league on points. Emile Heskey has urged Liverpool fans not to worry about the poor form – injuries account for most of it.

Liverpool injury crisis
At the time of writing Liverpool have eight players out injured.
This list includes three quarters of the back four.
Jürgen Klopp is without his starting centre back partnership for the rest of the season and his right back-cum-playmaker is out with a calf problem.
Summer signing Thiago is also absent due to a horror challenge in the Merseyside Derby.
As a result we’ve seen some heavily rotated lineups failing to deliver.
In the past week the Reds have lost 2-0 to Atalanta and drawn 1-1 with Brighton.
Emile Heskey on Liverpool form
Speaking to exclusively to Rousing the Kop, Emile Heskey explained the poor form Liverpool find themselves in.
We asked the Anfield icon why the Reds are looking so disjointed at the moment, the retired striker told us:
“When you have so many injuries and you’re taking out key components of your team, you’ve got to remember that for a year and a half they played the same team.
“When you’re training and playing like that everybody automatically knows where you’re going to go.
“So when you start to take people out of that it starts to get disjointed you’ve got to remember we’ve taken out four or five key components so it will, for a while, appear disjointed.”
What RTK has to say
Emile Heskey is right about the drop in form we’ve seen from Liverpool.
The Reds are putting out pre-season strength sides most of the time.
Youngsters are stepping in, top players are out of position.
Considering how many players are out injured it is a miracle that the boss still has us joint top of the league.
When we have our top players back, we’ll be bang in form again. There’s hope.
