Liverpool don’t need to worry about the recent results for Ajax. That’s despite them scoring 36 goals in just six Eredivisie games.
Ajax have had some pretty phenomenal Eredivisie results in recent weeks. Results that will naturally frighten every opponent.
Their most recent Eredivisie game was this weekend as they beat FC Emmen 5-0 away from home. Before that came a 5-0 home win over Heracles, which followed a 3-0 away with against Utretcht.
Ajax beat Fortuna Sittard 5-2 in their previous game, which came after a record-breaking 13-0 win over VVV-Venlo.
The one before that was a 5-1 win over Heerenveen, which kicked off this incredible run of six games.

Ajax scored 36 goals and conceded just three over that spell. It’s little surprise, then, that they’re top of the Eredivisie and have a goal-difference of +37.
Scary stuff – although, it shouldn’t worry Liverpool.
Ajax have consistently shown that they can’t translate their Eredivisie form into the Champions League. They lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool, for instance, after beating Heerenveen 5-1 just days earlier.
They followed their 13-0 win up with a 2-2 draw at Atalanta. Their wins over Midtjylland were not inspiring, either, despite each coming after emphatic domestic wins.
So while it’s easy to put it down to the standard of Dutch domestic football, the fact they struggled against Midtjylland suggests it’s more than that.
The Danes aren’t exactly a European giant, after all.
So while a look at their results suggests Liverpool are in danger, it likely won’t be the case. The Reds will face a different team, one that struggles to translate their natural game onto the bigger stage.
And that’s certainly good news for Liverpool. A win means qualification and we’d back them to get it.
