Liverpool have had terrible luck with injuries this season. The Reds have lost a host of first team stars to the treatment table and have called up a few youngsters as a result. Things could have been much worse for Liverpool if they had sold Neco Williams to Wolves in the summer.

Liverpool injury crisis
Liverpool have lost a number of first team players to the treatment table this season and the list keeps growing.
James Milner has just fallen foul of a hamstring issue.
Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk are out for the campaign due to knee injuries
Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently sidelined with a calf problem.
These problems have seen the Reds turn to their academy graduates for reinforcements.
Neco Williams step up
Neco Williams has started two games in the last week for Liverpool.
The Welsh teenager was given the nod against Atalanta and Brighton.
Whilst he hasn’t hit the heights of Trent Alexander-Arnold he has shown glimpses of his undeniable potential.
He will surely be used even more regularly in the near future with James Milner sidelined as well as Trent.
Neco Williams and Wolves
Over the summer Liverpool sold Ki-Jana Hoever to Wolves.
The Dutchman joined the Midlands side for an initial £10m.
According to The Times, Neco Williams was the initial target for Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were rebuffed when they sought a deal for the Welsh right back, instead offered his Dutch junior.
Liverpool will be thanking their lucky stars that they didn’t sell Neco Williams to Wolves this summer.
Had the Reds gotten rid of the right back they’d be in a more than sticky situation at the moment.
Ki-Jana Hoever would likely have been promoted from the youth ranks and at his young age he certainly wouldn’t be ready for the intense fixture list ahead.
