Some Liverpool fans worry Rhian Brewster may have made the wrong move. The youngster left the Reds for Sheffield United this season.

Rhian Brewster has fans worried. The 20-year-old joined Sheffield United in early October for around £23m but hasn’t hit the ground running.

It’s now five games without any goals or assists for a struggling Blades team. A very poor record in a side that can’t buy a win.

Chris Wilder’s side sits rock-bottom of the table with just one point from ten games.

They’ll be starting to worry, then, now that a quarter of the season is gone. But they’re certainly not the only ones worrying.

Some Liverpool fans believe the Reds and Brewster may have made a mistake. Sheffield United, after all, don’t look like a club capable of developing the player.

Liverpool reportedly have a buyback clause for Brewster but there’s little to no chance of them using it at this rate. The player would have to turn things around quite drastically, in fact.

Unfortunately, some fans don’t see that happening at Sheffield United.

What RTK has to say

Yeah, we’re starting to worry, too. Sheffield United look awful right now and that’s not what Brewster needs.

Brewster went into this season with just six-months of senior experience, all on loan at Swansea City last season. So, Championship football.

He’s just not used to a struggling Premier League side. He doesn’t have the knowhow to make things work in such an environment.

Not the mention that his game is that of a pure finisher – the worst type of style for a struggling team. They’re not going to create a hatful of chances for him.

It’s still early days, of course. Brewster is only five games into a long-term contract. But Sheffield United are ten games into a season and don’t look like turning it around.

Hopefully, things click for Brewster soon – we’d really like to see him do well.
