Should Ajax fail to beat the Danes whilst the Reds win then we will have top spot secured with two games to spare.

The Italian side will be looking for a much better result than their 5-0 thrashing last time out, they know at least a point will be crucial to qualifying into the next round.

Title boost

Should Liverpool beat Atalanta tonight it would be a massive boost to the Reds’ title hopes.

Securing qualification from the group with two games to spare would give the boss the ability to rotate the squad heavily for the final fixtures in December.

Given that there are games against Spurs and Wolves coming up, the boss will want to be able to keep his starting XI as fit as possible, being able to rest them in the midweek games would prove crucial.

There is also the consideration that the Spurs game takes on added significance this season due to the two teams being tied on points at the top.

A win against Jose Mourinho’s side could depend on having a full strength starting XI, something the Reds can help secure by beating Atalanta tonight.
