Germany legend Rudi Voller believe Jurgen Klopp has a luxury that no other Germany coach has. He sees a certain future for the Liverpool boss.
Germany’s 6-0 defeat against Spain immediately brought about two things. Firstly, it greatly increased the pressure on Jogi Low. And secondly, it brought forward talk of Jurgen Klopp becoming the national boss.
Rudi Voller recently gave his thoughts on the latter. The Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director was once Germany boss himself, of course, and does see Klopp taking the job.
When? He doesn’t know. But Voller believes Klopp is unique in how he can go about it.
“At some point, it is clear,” said Voller on Klopp taking the job, per Sport. “I have the feeling that he is the only one who could choose when to become a German coach.
“He deserves it.”
What RTK has to say
Well, we don’t see it happening anytime soon. Klopp, for one, has a contract until 2024 and there’s no suggestion of a national team get-out clause.
But the boss has never come across as someone who leaves a project halfway through it. If he sees another three-and-a-half years with Liverpool, we can take it as near-certain that he’ll fulfil it.
So no, we’re not exactly worried over here. As for the future, who knows? We could certainly see Klopp wanting to try it, even if National Boss doesn’t really seem like an ideal fit.
Klopp’s strength has always been in forming a culture and developing players around it. There’s a lot less of the former at National level, while the latter is virtually impossible with the little time you get with the players.

Still, it’s the ultimate challenge and Klopp will surely try it at some point. As Voller says, he can almost certainly pick his moment, such is his success in the game.
But that should be comfortably beyond 2024.
