Liverpool may have found an Adama Traore alternative. They like Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to reports in Spain.
This comes from La Razon. They’re covering Real Madrid’s interest in Samuel Chukwueze, claiming that Los Blancos are ‘willing to bid’ for the player.
The Nigerian has a £71m release clause in the his contract, though, so they’d need to negotiate with Villarreal. And they wouldn’t be the only ones.
La Razon names Liverpool among a host of Premier League clubs who like Chukwueze. Jurgen Klopp likes the player, they say, and sees him as an Adama Traore alternative.
Wolves would apparently want too much for Traore, turning Liverpool onto Chukwueze. Although, Wolves apparently like the latter themselves.

What RTK has to say
This isn’t the first time Chukwueze to Liverpool has come up. France Football, to name one, suggested it earlier in the year.
Honestly, we think this kind of deal is more likely now. Diogo Jota’s goals mean Liverpool can focus less on a goalscorer from the wing and more on a pacy wide-man. Chukwueze fits that profile.
We also certainly agree that he’d be cheaper than Traore, who will likely be prohibitively expensive – even if he’s an exciting prospect. The Nigerian makes far more sense in that regard.
Still, we can’t help but hope Liverpool aim higher than Chukwueze. When there are links to Jadon Sancho, the former quickly becomes an afterthought.
Jurgen Klopp and co. could almost certainly turn Chukwueze into a very handy player, though. If he’s available for the right price, why not? He wouldn’t be the star or anything but he could play a part.
But for any significant sum of cash, we’d much rather see it spent elsewhere.
