Tonight Liverpool went joint top of the league on points, behind Spurs on goal difference. The Reds put in a thoroughly professional performance to brush past Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Leicester City:

Alisson – 8.5

Alisson was cool, calm, collected and good on the ball.

James Milner – 8.5

The veteran utility man filled in without fuss, even changing positions during the game, he did his job admirably.

Fabinho – 8.5

The Brazilian showed no signs of rustiness, reading danger well and dealing with it swiftly.

Joel Matip – 8.5

The Cameroonian was solid and that’s all we can ask for.

Andy Robertson – 9

Andy Robbo, published author, just never lets us down. What a crosser.

Curtis Jones – 8.5

The Scouser was impressive, always looking to get on the ball and useful on it, he really rose to the occasion.

Gini Wijnaldum – 6

The Dutchman was full of running but also full of sloppy touches.

Naby Keita – 7

The Guinean was determined, getting about the pitch. We’ll expect more when he’s back to full fitness.

Diogo Jota – 9.5

The Portuguese star just can’t stop scoring, he is going to go down as one helluva buy.

Sadio Mane – 8.5

Sadio is a big game player and once again he had the opposition defence on terror mode.

Roberto Firmino – 8

The Brazilian is due a big game and for a while it looked like it just wasn’t going to happen for him but he got that goal in the end.
