Diogo Jota boasts a very promising record against Leicester City. The Liverpool forward will surely face them today.
Diogo Jota will almost certainly start against Leicester City today. There’s little choice, in fact, with Mohamed Salah out.
Leicester are the league leaders and the task requires the best XI a depleted Liverpool can muster. Jota, with his wonderful start, is undoubtedly a part of that.
Jota scored six goals in his five games before the international break. While he didn’t add any for Portugal in the last two weeks, the hope is still that he maintains that form in Red.
Fortunately, Leicester are a team Jota boasts a good record against.

Jota v Leicester
Jota’s record against Leicester actually starts back in 2016. He started for FC Porto at home against Foxes in a 5-0 win.
A teenage Jota bagged the last goal, too.
Eventually, the forward ended up at Wolves, of course, and next faced Leicester in the 18/19 season. He again started at home and tore the team to shreds.
Jota score a hat-trick in a 4-3 win – a star performance and arguably his best in the Premier League so far.
It means that in six total starts against Leicester, Jota has four goals for two different clubs.
He played well against them last season, too. The away fixture saw Jota complete five dribbles (the most on the pitch), have three shots (the most for Wolves), and created a chance with a key pass. [All stats per Whoscored]
The home fixture was less notable but Jota still won two tackles and had plenty of touches.
So this is all encouraging for Liverpool. They’ll need a strong performance from Jota but his history against Leicester is a very good one.
Hopefully he can keep that going and bag a home goal against Leicester for a third club.
