We recently discussed the fact Liverpool had eight youngsters in training this week. It appears Jurgen Klopp liked what he saw, too.
The first-team is now back after the international break but Klopp picked out four academy players who particularly impressed.
“[Paul] Glatzel, Leighton Clarkson, Jake Cain, they look sensational,” he said, per the Echo. “Billy [Koumetio] is back as well, so we are blessed with a lot of talent around us.”
What RTK has to say

The Reds had 12 games before the end of the year and an ever-diminishing group of first-team players. It’s only natural, then, that Klopp looks at academy players.
Defence is the key issue, of course. Koumetio could well be fairly close to the first-team, then, and perhaps stands the best chance.
Cain and Clarkson face a challenge getting in midfield – Liverpool still have plenty of players there. Similarly, we’re not sure Glatzel will feature soon unless someone else goes down.
Still, this is all very promising. We’ve seen Curtis Jones and Neco Williams break into the squad over the last 12 months and more could soon follow.
From Klopp’s words, it feels like only a matter of time before more talented youngsters get their first-team chance.
