Liverpool have some talented youngsters breaking through from the academy. We also have an incredibly strong first team. As a result it is difficult for promising youngsters to earn a place in the starting XI, some end up out on loan. One such loan star has been impressing for his country, Roy Keane has been drooling over Harry Wilson after his performance for Wales against Finland.
Harry Wilson loan star
Throughout the summer it was expected that Harry Wilson would be sold to raise funds for first team arrivals.
However, the pandemic impacted the purchasing power of prospective buyers and the Reds weren’t willing to budge on their valuation.
As a result we saw the youngster loaned out to Cardiff City for the season.
The 23-year-old has made a strong start on his return to the Championship, he was recently ranked as the second best performing player in division.

Roy Keane on Harry Wilson
This week Wales secured promotion in the Nations League with a 4-1 win over Finland.
Harry Wilson scored his nation’s first goal after firing home following a neat through ball from Gareth Bale.
Speaking on ITV Football (11/11/20, 11:45 pm) Roy Keane heaped praise on Harry Wilson and Gareth Bale, saying:
“I loved this goal [Wilson’s opener]. Bale’s gets a break of the ball, it’s the run from Wilson [from the edge of the box into the penalty area] brilliant, outstanding and lovely weight of pass.
“Beautiful. I can watch that all night. Fantastic.”
What RTK has to say
If Harry Wilson keeps this up then the Reds may well land a hefty payday at the end of the season.
His form so far this season is sure to be attracting the attention of a number of clubs, it’s not like there wasn’t interest already – they just couldn’t afford him.
It is also always a nice moment seeing a Man United legend such as Roy Keane praising the likes of Harry Wilson – he’s been around the block enough to know talent when he sees it.
