Jurgen Klopp has great praise for the new academy development at Liverpool. He sees a huge improvement in the process.
Liverpool’s new training ground means development for the academy and Jurgen Klopp is a fan.
The boss now has the academy prospects playing under the same roof as the senior side. That immediately has benefits, he says.
“It’s essential, it’s absolutely important,” Klopp told the Official club site. “Look, I’m the kind of coach who wants to be really connected with these boys.
“I want to know about them and I want to see them and I want to give the other coaches the opportunity to watch our training.

“It will help the process, it will improve the process, massively. The relationship with the Academy, it will be as close as ever and that’s really good.”
What RTK has to say
If Klopp thinks it’s going to improve things ‘massively’ then that’s simply fantastic to hear. Hopefully, we can see even more young players develop into first-team options.
And that’s saying something because we’ve had a few in recent years. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the standout but Neco Williams and Curtis Jones are there, too.
Klopp suggests that the process will be easier and better with the new academy setup. We may already have an example, in fact, as the Mirror reports that eight youngsters joined first-team training this week.
It will be easier and easier to do that with everyone under the same roof. That should, surely, translate into a better pathway into first-team games.
