Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has opened up on his respect for Sadio Mane. The Arsenal captain is clearly a big fan.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang clearly likes Sadio Mane. He recently spoke of his respect for the Liverpool star in a press conference.
“Sadio is the Africans’ player,” he said, per WIWSport. “He’s also the kind of player every coach would like to have on their team.
“Like all African players in the Premier League. We tease, we message before and after a match, at the presentation and at the entrance to the locker room.
“Sadio, once the kick-off is given, he’s a beast. I have a lot of respect for him because from what we see through social networks and the media, he is someone who does a lot for his hometown.”
What RTK has to say
It’s always wonderful seeing other professionals – rivals, even – respecting the current crop of Liverpool stars.
We saw it with Declan Rice praising Jordan Henderson this week and we see it again here.
And Mane deserves praise just about as much as anyone. He’s risen from playing in French Third Division all the way to competing for the game’s top honours – and winning them.
Liverpool obviously knew they were getting someone good when they paid Southampton £34m in 2016.
But they surely didn’t seem him rising so rapidly to become one of the most threatening forwards in football.
So seeing him rise to the top is fantastic. It’s great to see the reputation he now has, even with players as special as Aubameyang.
