Liverpool have made some statement signings in recent years. Our biggest buy has arguably been Thiago – we really sent out a message with that one. Given the success the club are enjoying on and off the pitch, we may well see another statement buy in the near future. According to Sport in Spain, Liverpool are going to fight to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Liverpool attacking trio
At the minute the Liverpool attacking trio is in a state of flux, to an extent.
For a while there has been no shifting them, no replacing them.
Then along came Diogo Jota and down came the form of Roberto Firmino.
The Portuguese star has started to threaten the place of the Brazilian in the starting lineup.

Given that the trio are all edging closer to their 30s, there’s no guarantee that they will be keeping their spots in the side in the coming years.
Liverpool to fight for Kylian Mbappe
According to Sport in Spain, Real Madrid are intent on pursuing the crown prince of French football this summer with a price tag of £160.5m mentioned.
The outlet also states, however, that Liverpool will ‘fight’ them for Kylian Mbappe.
Sport alleges that Jürgen Klopp has had a ‘direct line’ with the striker since meeting him ahead of his move to PSG.
It is said that the German ‘wants to coach’ the forward next season but then again so does Zinedine Zidane.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Kylian Mbappe is the dream.
The Reds bringing the Frenchman in would surely depend on one of the current front three making way.
We would need to raise finances and make room for him, there doesn’t seem to be a reality wherein Mbappe arrives without Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane making way.
It wouldn’t be an awful move if that was the case, the Frenchman has a good decade of goals in him.
