Liverpool are in the midst of an injury crisis like no other. At the time of writing the entire back four has been ruled out. This will lead the boss to selecting the backup brigade, youngsters and squad players. Neco Williams has put in an exciting display for Wales at just the right time given Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury.

Alexander-Arnold injury
Liverpool lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to injury just before the international break.
The Scouser pulled up with a calf problem during the 1-1 draw with Man City.
We were concerned to see him go down given that it isn’t often that the right back is ruled out.
After the game we learned that the defender will miss four weeks of action, ruling him out of a home visit from Leicester City.
Neco Williams to step up
It is widely expected that Neoc Williams will step into Trent’s shoes for the Leicester City game.
The Welshman has been cast as the defacto understudy to the Scouser given that the Reds didn’t buy a backup right back over the summer whereas they did invest at left back.
Last season was a breakthrough one for the 19-year-old academy starlet.
He impressed in the cups and eventually earned a Premier League winner’s medal.
Neco Williams Wales display
Given the injury to Trent, the Neco Williams display for Wales this weekend couldn’t have come at a better time.
The right back was one of his nation’s best player’s against the Republic of Ireland.
The Reds’ star played the full 90 minutes as his country beat the Irish 1-0.
The Hard Tackle named Neco Williams their standout performer for Wales, giving him an 8/10 score.
He thoroughly deserved the praise, he was adventurous and inventive on the ball, often penetrating the Irish lines with his direct running.
If he can maintain this level of performance in the Premier League then we’ve no reason to worry about Trent’s absence.
