There was a hattrick from Diogo Jota and a goal each from Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, as well as superlative defensive performances.
One of the most encouraging takeaways from the game was the slick football. Liverpool hit their stride, they were swaggering about the pitch at times, stroking the ball this way and that, carving the opposition open.

A win for Jürgen Klopp would put him eight points clear of the Blues, although Pep would still have a game in hand.
As long as Liverpool can maintain the level of performance we saw on Tuesday night, they should sweep Man City aside without much trouble.
