Liverpool utterly humiliated Atalanta on Tuesday night. The Reds went to Bergamo and tore the Italian side apart in their own backyard. It was a masterclass from Jürgen Klopp’s men, a true flexing of their muscles. Speaking after the game, Diogo Jota said Liverpool is the best team of his career so far.

Incredible performance
Liverpool really turned it on this week.
The Reds journeyed to Italy knowing that they were set to face their toughest test of this season’s group stage. They were heading to a free scoring side’s home ground with an unproven 19-year-old in defence to face the music.
The defence stood up to the challenge and the front three blew away the hosts.
Diogo Jota bagged an excellent hattrick whilst Mo Salah and Sadio Mane added well taken goals to make it a 5-0 rout for Jürgen Klopp’s men.
Diogo Jota post match
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Diogo Jota said that Liverpool is best team of his career so far. When asked if he was playing in the form of his life, the Portuguese forward responded:
“Well, I’m playing in the best team in my career so far that’s for sure. I don’t know if it was my best moment.
“But obviously, scoring goals it’s my way of playing football so I’m really happy with this and with the result of course great win away in the Champions League – so good moment, good night.”
The ex-Wolves man was humble throughout the interview and heaped praise on his attacking partners, saying:
“Well, obviously, two world-class players, we all know their quality, it makes it easier for me to do my job because they are outstanding players and I think we did a great game together today.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool fans will be made up with Diogo Jota after these comments.
We’ve got a real diamond on our hands with this one. The forward just goes from strength to strength, he cannot stop scoring.
Fingers crossed he keeps his place in the side and carries his strong form through to Sunday afternoon. A similar performance against Man City would lay down a marker for the season.
