Liverpool continued their incredible start to their Champions League campaign with a thumping victory over Atalanta tonight. The Reds obliterated the free scoring Italian side in their own backyard. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Atalanta:
Goalkeeper: Alisson – 9
The Brazilian didn’t have much to do at all but ultimately he kept making saves and his distribution was sharp as ever.
Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9
Trent was sublime yet again, picking out incisive passes. His ball for the opener was unreal.
Centre back: Joe Gomez – 8.5
Leaky at times at the back but overall a solid performance which included a well picked out assist.
Centre back: Rhys Williams – 8.5
The youngster more than held his own, putting in a thoroughly impressive performance in a huge game.
Left back: Andy Robertson – 8
The Scotsman was energetic as ever, buzzing up and down the left flank.
Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson – 9
Hendo is the one that makes it all tick, he’s constantly barking orders and recycling possession impeccably.
Centre midfield: Gini Wijnaldum – 8.5
Gini barely put a foot wrong all game, impressing with his dynamic running.
Centre midfield: Curtis Jones – 8.5
Some fans suggested he needed to step up tonight. He more than did that, a thoroughly impressive performance.
Right wing: Mo Salah – 9
The Egyptian King got a goal he thoroughly deserved, a dynamic, hardworking display.
Left wing: Sadio Mane – 9
Yet another world class Sadio Mane performance, his consistency is staggering.
Striker: Diogo Jota – 10
The best player in world football. What else can we say? He’s the best football player in the werld mate. In the werld.
