Liverpool 2-1 West Ham

As is tradition, Liverpool allowed West Ham to take the lead 10 minutes into the game.

Joe Gomez was hospitably nodded the ball out to Pablo Fornals, the Hammer side footing it in off the near post past Alisson.

From there on out, the visitors predictably dug in. The scores were levelled when Mo Salah converted a penalty which he won just before halftime.

The hosts continued to dominate without often threatening, they had plenty of the ball but weren’t doing much with it.

The introduction of Xherdan Shaqiri and Diogo Jota helped open West Ham up.

The pair were lively on the ball, constantly looking to get on it and do something with it. Eventually the substitutes combined with Little Big Jed Shaqiri slipping Diogo Jota through for the winner.

The Portuguese became the first player since Luis Garcia in 2004 to score in three successive home games from his Liverpool debut.

One fan believes he is better signing than Kai Havertz.

Another supporter pointed out that he’s only going to get better in future.

He’s been deemed a bargain signing.

Plenty of puns were pulled out to praise him.

He’s something of a lucky charm for us at the moment.

Of course, the Muller meme came out.
