Van Dijk injury

Liverpool fans are slowly coming to terms with what happened in that Merseyside Derby game.

The Reds were robbed of three points against Everton due to a pair of calamitous refereeing decisions.

Perhaps the most controversial call was the decision not to send off Jordan Pickford.

The Everton keeper remained on the field after he recklessly flew into Virgil van Dijk, ruling the Dutchman out for the season with an ACL injury.

Liverpool and Dayot Upamecano

Fans and pundits alike have been clamouring for Liverpool to move for Dayot Upamecano.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

The French centre back has been a standout performer for RB Leipzig in the past couple of seasons, at 21-years-old he is one of the most promising young defenders in world football.

According to the Sunday World, RB Leipzig expect Liverpool to move for Upamecano in January.

The German side are said to be willing to do business around the £40m mark as the Frenchman has a release clause of £36.5m which can be activated in the summer.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Dayot Upamecano for £40m would be one of the deals of the year, of the past few years.

The defender has such a bright career ahead of him; to snap him up for half of what Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire would be an absolute steal.

Fingers crossed we get this deal over the line in January, we need reinforcements desperately in the New Year’s window.
