Liverpool made it two wins out of two in the Champions League this year with victory over FC Midtjylland at Anfield. The Reds made hard work of it, only showing their brilliance in flashes. Goalkeeper: Alisson – 8

Ali didn’t have much to do but he was composed and commanding.

Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9

The Scouser in our team was in superlative form, spraying passes everywhere and looking a real threat.

Centre back: Joe Gomez – 8

The Englishman didn’t have an awful amount to do but what he did do he did well.

Centre back: Rhys Williams – 8

Having come on early in the first half the academy star gave a thoroughly good account of himself.

Left back: Andy Robertson – 6.5

Andy Robbo, published author, didn’t get forward often enough.

Defensive midfield: Jordan Henderson – 7

The skipper was screaming at his teammates throughout, dictating play.

Defensive midfield: James Milner – 7.5

The experienced pro was an example to his teammates with his industriousness.

Attacking midfield: Xherdan Shaqiri – 7

The Swiss international had some bright moments on the ball, we just needed more of them

Right wing: Diogo Jota – 8.5

The Portuguese forward continued his strong form with yet another goal.

Left wing: Divock Origi – 4

The Belgian just doesn’t seem to care unless it’s a monumental fixture. Sure, he tries, but nothing comes off unless the pressure is on.

Striker: Takumi Minamino – 5

The Japan international will be looking to further his case for a starting berth in the league side.
