Liverpool are currently ‘scratching their heads’ over links to Ozan Kabak, according to reports. The Reds supposedly want the defender.
This comes from the Liverpool Echo. They claim that club insiders don’t know where recent links between Liverpool and Ozan Kabak have come from.
The Mirror produced one such report. They say Liverpool have opened discussions with Schalke 04 and hope to sign the defender for £20m. Then SportMediaSet claim that the Reds will rival AC Milan for the 20-year-old.
But now the Echo says their information is that is nothing in these reports. In fact, management are ‘scratching their heads’ over where they’ve come from.
One source tells them that it’s ‘simply the work of an exuberant agent and a team desperate for the cash’.

What RTK has to say
Well, now we don’t know what to think. On the one hand, this is all a pretty firm denial that suggests we won’t see Kabak at Anfield any time soon.
On the other, Liverpool could be playing their cards very tight to their chest. They won’t want anyone to know they’re on the lookout, after all, and we’d be shocked if they had no interest in Kabak. He’s a very good, young defender.
At face value, though, we’d probably rule this one out. That last line, in particular, isn’t the kind of statement to make of a club you hope to negotiate with.
So on that basis, perhaps Liverpool truly are going in a different direction on this one.
