This week Liverpool take on FC Midtjylland in the Champions League group stage. The Reds won their opening game in professional manner, beating Ajax 1-0. Elsewhere, Atalanta battered FC Midtjylland in Denmark. Liverpool do have one important reason to fear FC Midtjylland this week.

Champions League openers
Liverpool put in a thoroughly professional performance in Amsterdam to run out 1-0 winners over Ajax.
The Reds went ahead thanks to a Nicolas Tagliafico own goal in the first half, the visitors hung on in there for the remainder of the game. It was a vital three points which set down a marker for the group.
Meanwhile, Atalanta travelled to Denmark and beat the nation’s champions 4-0 in their own back yard.
Brondby vs Midtjylland
In the weekend just gone, FC Midtjylland journeyed to league leaders Brondby.
The hosts went 2-0 up and the visitors looked defeated. However, goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes put the Midtjylland level.
Then in the 94th minute, the visitors stole the win from the hosts with an own goal.
What RTK has to say
This is certainly something that we need to keep in mind, there are few things more powerful in football than confidence, than high morale.
The Danes will be journeying to Liverpool high on their late comeback against the league leaders, they’ll be brimming with confidence and determined not to roll over and accept another 4-0 battering.
This weekend result has thrown the cat among the pigeons, whilst the Reds are still comfortable favourites we need to guard against complacency – the visitors have just shown that they can pull out a surprise result.
