Liverpool have had a frustrating weekend. The Reds played out of their skin on Saturday but were denied a win by some truly shocking decisions at Goodison Park. In a remarkable development, the Mail has claimed that the VAR forgot the rules. If the report is true then David Coote should be suspended from refereeing.
Goodison Park travesty
Liverpool fans will need a while to forget the events of the weekend’s Merseyside Derby.
Jürgen Klopp’s side went into the game with a point to prove having been battered by Aston Villa before the international break.
The Reds showed that they are still at the top of their game, putting in a stellar performance. They were robbed of three points by two horrendous decisions.
Early on in the game VAR official David Coote neglected to send off Jordan Pickford after he lunged knee height at Virgil van Dijk – ruling the Dutchman out for the season.

A winner for the Reds was ruled out in injury time in bizarre fashion, pictures showing that the offside call was contentious to say the least.
David Coote forgot the rules
According to The Mail, VAR official David Coote forgot the rules during the Merseyside Derby.
It is claimed that the referee thought that Virgil van Dijk being offside nullified the assault on him by Jordan Pickford.
Essentially, this would mean that David Coote thought that it’s no holds barred between an offside flag and the ball coming back into play.
David Coote should be suspended
If this shocking report is true then David Coote should be suspended from duty immediately.
This isn’t the first time he’s made a major error. Last season he failed to chalk off Manchester United’s opener against the Reds after a clear foul on Divock Origi.
He was also forced to apologise after he failed to send off Giovani Lo Celso for a stamp on Cesar Azpilicueta.
This can’t continue, he keeps making horrendous errors. This most recent one is perhaps the most bizarre of the lot, he needs to be suspended or dropped back into the football league.
