Liverpool were absolutely robbed this weekend. The Reds went to Goodison Park with a point to prove and they proved it; they were brilliant. However, the referees didn’t fancy it. In an on screen meltdown, Paul Merson summed up the Liverpool robbery after our winner was chalked off.

Calamitous refereeing decisions

Liverpool fans were left scratching their heads, after pulling their hair out, this weekend.

Early on in the Merseyside Derby Virgil van Dijk was forced off with injury – an injury picked up after Jordan Pickford flew in at knee height.

Just how the Everton goalkeeper stayed on the pitch is beyond us, and many pundits. It just doesn’t make sense. It wasn’t just a bad tackle, it was one of the worst I’ve seen in years.

Horror tackle unpunished aside, moments from the end Liverpool were robbed of a winning goal despite all the pictures showing that Sadio Mane seemed to be clearly onside.

Paul Merson Liverpool meltdown

On Soccer Saturday this weekend we saw Paul Merson suffer a meltdown watching Liverpool get robbed at the death.

The Arsenal icon was stunned to see the Reds’ winner chalked off in controversial circumstances. He just couldn’t believe the decision the officials had made.

“Stop killing the game,” the ex-defender cried out. He was utterly bewildered by the decision and he’s not the only one.

What RTK has to say

Aside from the deluded and exiled Andy Gray, I am yet to see a pundit who can understand the decisions which went against Liverpool this weekend.

The referees have a lot to answer for and they’ve been asked to answer for them according to The Athletic.

Fingers crossed we’ll get more clarity on the calamity in the near future.
