Report: Jürgen Klopp wants Adama Traore - once called him "unplayable"

Liverpool have one of the deadliest attacks in world football. Unique in its determination and defensive acumen, the Reds’ front line have been terrorising defences with their pressing and finishing. The trio will need replacing in a few years time as they age together – all born in the same school year. According to Mundo Deportivo, Jürgen Klopp wants Adama Traore at Liverpool.

The Traore Story

24-year-old winger Adama Traore is a product of the famous La Masia youth system at Barcelona.

The wide man learned his trade in the Catalan capital before moving to Aston Villa in 2015.

Just a year later he was moved on again, this time joining Middlesbrough and enjoying success at the Riverside Stadium.

Two years later he joined Wolves and he has been impressing in the Premier League ever since.

Jürgen Klopp wants Adama Traore

Mundo Deportivo have this week been waxing lyrical about the virtues of the Wolves winger.

Miguel Rico wrote that it is only logical that Jürgen Klopp wants Adama Traore at Anfield given the qualities that the Spaniard possesses.

According to the journalist Wolves will ask for €70m for the winger – around £63.3m.

What RTK has to say

This isn’t the first time we’ve learned of the boss’ interest in the Spaniard.

We have been linked with a move for Traore time and again. In January Jürgen Klopp referred to Adama Traore as ‘unplayable‘.

The finances involved in this deal make it a difficult one to complete but if the gaffer is as interested as Mundo Deportivo would have us believe then it is one that could be done.

It makes sense on paper, he is technically gifted, young enough to still have enormous potential and he is athletic enough to press as Liverpool do.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
