Liverpool have produced some world class talents at the academy down the years. The Reds have brought through Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen, world beater Steven Gerrard and right back revolutionary Trent Alexander-Arnold. One of our brightest academy stars has extended his stay at the club. Tom Hill has signed a new long term contract at Liverpool.
Who is Tom Hill?
Tom Hill joined the Liverpool academy at just 6-years-old.
Since then the Formby born talent has risen through the ranks at the academy, impressing at every age level.
Last season he made his debut for the U18s side and shortly after made his senior debut in the EFL Cup when the senior squad were at the World Club Cup in Qatar.
The centre midfielder is renowned for his determined work in the engine of the midfield, a typical box to box player he has some Gerrard like qualities to the game – popping up everywhere on the pitch and often arriving into the box at the right time.
Tom Hill signs new Liverpool contract
Having signed his first professional deal this year and having extended it in the summer, Tom Hill has signed yet another new contract with Liverpool.
The youngster turned 18-years-old this week meaning he was able to sign an even longer deal with the Reds.
The contract comes as just reward for the youngster’s fine form early on this season, scoring regularly for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s in pre-season, even taking the armband on occasion.
What RTK has to say
This is excellent news, we’re made up for the young lad.
Tom Hill is a proper talent, as Pep Lijnders would put it. This is a massive show of faith in the youngster from the club given the fact that he is recovering from a serious knee injury he recently sustained in training.
Fingers crossed the youngster will be back in action sooner rather than later so that he can continue his development, he is one of the brightest talents in the academy.
