Liverpool have had a successful transfer window to say the least. The Reds have bought smartly, bringing in an elite midfielder, a promising young forward and a backup left back. There is still business to be done but this remaining business will likely revolve around outgoing transfers. According to the Liverpool ECHO, Yasser Larouci could sign for Norwich before Friday.
Yasser Larouci at Liverpool
Liverpool signed Yasser Larouci from Le Havre in 2017.
When the Algerian arrived he was a tricky winger but he was soon converted into a left back pace merchant.
The switch in role was successful, paying dividends as the speedster was a star member of the U18s side which won the FA Youth Cup in 2019.
The 19-year-old made his Reds debut in January of this year when he replaced an injured James Milner in an FA Cup tie with Everton.
Yasser Larouci wanted by Norwich
According to the Liverpool ECHO, Yasser Larouci is likely to be sold before Friday and Norwich are leading the chasing pack.
The Algerian is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and is unlikely to sign a new deal due to the lack of a pathway to the first team.
As a result the Reds will look to cash in on him during this window rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer.
Yasser Larouci moving to Norwich could be a blow to Leeds United with the Yorkshire side with The Mirror (04/10, p74) reporting Marcelo Bielsa’s interest recently.
What RTK has to say
Let’s hope he gets his move now.
Selling Yasser Larouci to Norwich during this window is the best option for all involved. We get some money and he gets some regular game time.
At the minute there’s no route into the Reds’ side for the youngster and he may struggle to find a club of a suitable stature next summer if he only plays U23 football this season.
He is clearly talented, we saw that against Everton, he just needs regular first team opportunities.
