Liverpool will be busy in the transfer market this week. Michael Edwards and co will be hard at work trying to cash in on some lesser spotted talents, as well as finding temporary homes for some bright youngsters. According to the Liverpool ECHO, Herbie Kane could be sold to Hull City by Friday’s deadline.
Herbie Kane at Liverpool
21-year-old midfielder Herbie Kane joined the Liverpool academy from Bristol City aged 15.
The ex-Robins man is known for his Steven Gerrard like moments, providing pinpoint raking passes and stunning long rang efforts.
These characteristics should come as no surprise given how he impressed working under Gerrard in the UEFA Youth League.
Kane was named in the League One Team of the Season after an impressive spell with Doncaster Rovers in the 2018/19 campaign.
Herbie Kane wanted by Hull City
According to the Liverpool ECHO, Herbie Kane could be sold by the Friday deadline with Hull City interested.
Kane spent the second half of last season at the KCOM Stadium.
It was a disappointing campaign for the Tigers with the club relegated to League One after finishing dead last in the table.
The North East side have started this campaign brightly however, they’ve won four of their first five games in the third tier.
What RTK has to say
A bit more cash in the coffers and less wages on the books methinks.
Herbie Kane was a bright spark in the academy for years but, like most, he just wasn’t able to kick on into the first team – there’s no shame in that, we’re talking about one of the strongest first teams in world football.
Hopefully he’ll be able to secure a regular first team place somewhere before the deadline on Friday, Hull City would be a good move for him given his experience in League One and the stature of the club.
