Liverpool’s academy sides have started the season strongly after some changes in personnel were made over the summer. The U18s have been banging them in and one of the side’s stars has since been rewarded; the Reds have confirmed that Harvey Blair has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool.
Strong start for U18s
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson took over as U18s manager over the summer following the promotion of Barry Lewtas to U23s coach after the departure of Neil Critchley.
The U18s have had a sterling start to the season under the new boss.
The young Reds won four pre-season friendlies with an aggregate score of 18-2.
In competitive fixtures they’ve beaten Stoke City 5-0, Blackburn Rovers 3-0 and fallen to a tough defeat against Manchester City.
Harvey Blair signs pro contract
Liverpool have today confirmed that Harvey Blair has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old forward has been playing on the left side of the front three for the U18s this season.
The new deal is just reward for his fine goal scoring form in recent weeks.
Kopites will be hoping that he continues to develop given that he joined the club from Manchester United at U12 level.
