Journalist Miguel Delaney suggests Jadon Sancho deliberately left the door open for Liverpool. The winger had a chance to move to Manchester United.
The Independent’s Miguel Delaney believes Jadon Sancho is very open to the idea of moving to Liverpool. He may, in fact, have brushed off a move to Manchester United to keep the idea alive.

“I remember being told that if this deal was to get done [Sancho to United], it might have to come to the point where Sancho had to force through a transfer request,” he told the Anfield Wrap. “And that was never, basically, on the cards.
“He doesn’t want to irritate Dortmund – he’s content with his life over there. And what was put to me at the time was, although he would have been happy to join Manchester United, he wasn’t exactly beating down the door.
“And a lot of people think that’s because, if it comes to it, he’d prefer a move to Liverpool.”
The Guardian recently claimed that Sancho had a £108m price. That appears to have been the stumbling block for United.
What RTK has to say
Well, it’s just nice to hear that a player is unsure about United because it rules out a move to Liverpool. It’s certainly a great sign of how far the club has come.
But it’s also great to see that Liverpool’s success is hurting United in more ways than just their egos.
But, even better than all of that, is the suggestion that Sancho wants to move to Liverpool. He is, after all, about as ideal as it gets for the Reds’ next generation.

Sancho can score, he can assist, he’s pacy, and he’s direct. They’re all traits of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and you’d imagine Sancho’s introduction would be seamless.
Fingers crossed, then, that this is something Liverpool want for next season. They would have to make a very difficult choice, however.
