Liverpool have one of the best sporting directors in world football. We know as much because he just keeps on pulling off ridiculous deals. The Reds have in the past few years been assembling the best squad in the world for a bargain of a net spend. This window has been now different. Twitter has been in awe of Michael Edwards again after his Rhian Brewster masterstroke.
Liverpool transfer window
So far in this transfer window Liverpool have signed Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.
The Reds have also moved on Ki-Jana Hoever and Dejan Lovren and are expected to sell Xherdan Shaqiri, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic before the deadline.
The club has spent around £71m on incoming transfers and has brought in around £23m from the sales of Dejan Lovren and Ki-Jana Hoever.
Sheffield United to sign Brewster
According to David Ornstein, Sheffield United are set to sign Rhian Brewster for £23.5m with a 15% sell on clause and a buy back clause which will last three years.
The deal represents an incredible piece of business from Michael Edwards. He has recouped more than the guaranteed portion of the Thiago fee by selling a player without a single Premier League appearance.
Given the buy back clause we can even bring him back to Anfield should he begin to fulfil his potential. It is a truly astounding piece of negotiating from the director.

One user asked how the man keeps raking in exorbitant fees.
How does Liverpool keep convincing clubs to massively overpay for their players???

Net spend FC.
The sale of Brewster, reduces Liverpool’s Net spend for this transfer window to around £30m. With more sales due before the deadline. We could very well end up in profit come the window shutting. FSG & Michael Edwards incredibly astute businessmen.

He’s won the window yet again.
But Michael Edwards though. Signed a left back, Thiago and Jota all while maintaining a profit. Very good work by the club financially. FSG, Klopp, Edwards won again

The transfer suits us down to the ground.
Hope Brewster absolutely smashes it at Sheff Utd and I think he will. The inserting of a buy-back and getting £23.5m is absolutely boss. It’s nice to actually be doing deals that suit us perfectly. Michael Edwards strikes again. 💪🏻
