Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Arsenal as the Reds were knocked out of the EFL Cup on penalties after a frankly woeful game of football. Sure, there were a few chances but my oh my what a drab affair.

Adrian – 9
The Spaniard was impressive, foiling Eddie Nketiah in the first half and Holding in the second, his composure always astounds.
Neco Williams – 8
Neco certainly went some way to silencing his critics, putting in some determined work and evil crosses.
Rhys Williams – 8
The youngster had a strong game considering his inexperience, he was very composed.
Virgil van Dijk – 7
The towering Dutchman misplaced a pass or two but he’s working on his day off so we won’t hold it against him.
James Milner – 7.5
Milly is just the ultimate professional isn’t he mate. Always gives it everything even when playing out of position.
Marko Grujic – 8
The Serbian had a strong game, he was decisive in the tackle and picked out some smart passes.
Curtis Jones – 6.5
The next Scouser in our team is a proper talent isn’t he. Always exciting to watch him, not much came off.
Harry Wilson – 6.5
The Welshman was determined and ambitious throughout the game, always trying something.
Diogo Jota – 8
The Portuguese forward put himself about and made things happen, should have had a pen in the first half.
Mo Salah – 6
The Egyptian King was quiet, also working on his day off.
Takumi Minamino – 6
Taki was unlucky not to score in the first half, let’s be kind – none of us would score that one.
