Liverpool have made very few missteps in the transfer market of late. Michael Edwards has established himself as one of the best recruiters in the sport, identifying and signing targets for bargain fees who go on to be world class talents. One of the few, perhaps the only, unsuccessful signing of recent years has just left the club on loan again. Twitter has reacted to confirmation that Loris Karius has joined Union Berlin.

Liverpool and Karius
Liverpool signed Loris Karius in 2016, bringing him in from Mainz in a £4.7m deal.
The German didn’t have a bad first season at Anfield, he made a few mistakes but they were chalked up to youthful exuberance, inexperience. He also saved a few penalties.
It was in his second season that it all went wrong. The keeper was at fault for two goals in the Champions League final, costing Liverpool the trophy in Kiev.
Alisson Becker was brought in as a replacement and Karius has been on loans since.
Karius loan to Union Berlin
Liverpool have today confirmed that Loris Karius has joined Union Berlin on a season long loan.
The German will be returning to his home country in an effort to get his career back on track.
At 27-years-old he still has plenty of time to become a top goalkeeper, playing back in the Bundesliga may well help him achieve that.
Liverpool fans react
One fan thinks that the move home is an ideal one.
Another is gutted to see such a good looking man leave at just the wrong time.
Others feel that he should be given a second chance at Anfield.
Some feeling that he has shown his remorse for what happened.
This fan believes he is our second best goalkeeper.
But we all wish him luck.
