Liverpool have made some decisive moves in the transfer market in recent weeks. Jürgen Klopp has added significant quality in depth to his side after months of Kopites becoming convinced that there wouldn’t be any major new additions to the side. These transfers will likely precipitate outgoing moves. Sheffield United have reportedly decided to pursue Daniel Sturridge ahead of Rhian Brewster.

Sheffield United and Brewster

There has been a lot of talk this window about the future of Rhian Brewster.

The youngster has bags of potential and, should he fulfil this potential, is certain to be one of the most deadly finishers in the Premier League.

However, at the minute there is no direct route into the first team for the forward, leading to suggestions the club will loan him out to gain first team experience.

Recently these reports have transformed with claims that he could even be sold this month should the club be able to insert a buyback clause in the deal.

The Athletic this month claimed that Sheffield United were looking to take Brewster on a temporary deal.

Sheffield United turn to Sturridge

According to a report in The Mail, Sheffield United are turning their attention to Daniel Sturridge.

The Blades are said to have been in talks with the Reds for Brewster, as well as Arsenal for Folarin Balogun.

Former Reds striker Sturridge is currently a free agent having left Trabzonspor this year.

What RTK has to say

It would be a shame should Sheffield United not take Rhian Brewster.

Bramall Lane is the best destination for him in footballing terms. The Blades create plenty of chances but they lack a predatory finisher to convert these chances into goals.

Sure, we previously said that Palace would be the ideal place for Brewster, however, this was more taking into account that he would be returning to home in London.

If we are thinking in purely where matches his playing style best then playing for Sheffield United under Chris Wilder is ideal for Brewster.

Although, it would be good to see Sturridge back in the Premier League, he is a fantastic player and has been terribly unlucky with injuries.
