Liverpool have enjoyed great success in the past few seasons. Jürgen Klopp has put us back on our perch at the top of world football, leading us to being crowned champions of everything. The Reds have reached this pinnacle playing more or less the same team every week, only ever tinkering out of necessity. As a result it’s been difficult to break into the side, leading some youngster to looking for new homes. One such youngster could soon be on his way, according James Pearce, Harry Wilson could be set to join Burnley.

Harry Wilson at Liverpool

A product of the Reds’ youth academy, 23-year-old Harry Wilson has been at Liverpool since U9 level.

The Welsh winger has never made a senior league appearance for the club, instead spending most of his first team career out on loan.

Perhaps his most successful spell was at Derby County in 2018-19 where he played under Frank Lampard and won the club’s goal of the month award seemingly constantly.

Sky Sports believes that the Clarets are closing in on a deal worth around £15m, a fee which would match Burnley’s club record buy.

Sean Dyche’s side may even break their transfer record given that the Liverpool ECHO believe the Reds’ asking price is £20m.

The Wales wide man is not seen as part of Jürgen Klopp’s plans given the bulging size of the squad and the arrival of Diogo Jota.

What RTK has to say

Fingers crossed this one goes through.

The young man has talent but he won’t get the game time he needs to develop if he stays at Liverpool.

The club also need to claw back some of the money spent on Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara.

We can only wish him the best with his next move, his set piece delivery combined with Burnley’s aerial ability could cause quite a few teams some problems this season.
