What a week

After months of being tortured by rumours in the press, Liverpool signed Thiago Alcantara.

The Spaniard was entering the final year of his deal at Bayern Munich and had purportedly told the club he was unwilling to sign a new contract.

This opened the door for the Reds to sign the Spaniard for just £20m plus £5m in bonuses.

A day later we were all surprised by the signing of Diogo Jota from Wolves, the 23-year-old arriving for £41m.

The lads celebrated these signings with a comfortable 2-0 win over Chelsea which saw a record breaking debut from Thiago Alcantara.

Liverpool agree Ismaila Sarr fee

According to France Football, Liverpool have agreed a fee of €35-40m (£32m) for Ismaila Sarr from Watford.

The Senegalese winger has been persistently linked with the Reds this summer and has 27 caps for Senegal, playing alongside Sadio Mane.

France Football have claimed that the club will agree a £5.5m salary with the 22-year-old Hornets winger.

What RTK has to say

A load of rubbish if you ask us.

This would only make sense if Divock Origi was sold. There is also the consideration that James Pearce has claimed in no uncertain terms that the Reds won’t make any more purchases this summer.

If Jürgen Klopp was to bring in another player then a fourth choice centre back would surely be the priority over another wide forward.

We’re pretty certain it was Jota or Sarr, not Jota and Sarr.
