Liverpool have had a fantastic week. The Reds have beaten supposed title contenders Chelsea 2-0 in their own backyard, just days after bringing in Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota. Whilst the incoming transfers are great news they do necessitate a sale or two. Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports that Rhian Brewster could move to Crystal Palace.
Liverpool double swoop
Kopites had spent the past few months being warned not to expect big signings.
The club consistently warned us against getting our hopes up as the company faced up to the financial impact of the global health crisis.
Then in a hurry, the Thiago Alcantara saga came to a conclusion with the Reds signing the Spaniard for just £20m with £5m in bonuses.
A day later the purchase of Diogo Jota was confirmed for a fee of £41m.
Brewster wanted by Palace
According to James Pearce, Rhian Brewster moving to Crystal Palace for £25m is ‘gathering pace’.
Sky Sports claimed that the deal would include a £37m buyback option.
However, Palace chairman Steve Parish rubbished these claims and has asked Sky Sports to remove the tweet.
The move would make a significant dent in the fees the Reds have paid out in the past week.
Liverpool fans react to rumours
One supporter questioned how Trent would have gotten on if he was given as few opportunities as Brewster.
What a shame. We are having to sell our best young prospects to even out things. I wonder how well Trent would have been doing as a second choice in Luton Town or Huddersfield if Clyne never got injured and he had that extended run of games.

Whilst another fan was more optimistic about the transfer, it is more immediate cash.
I have no issue with this. We get instant money having bought two players who are better right now, and can profit if he does reach the level we hope he can.

Though some supporters are gutted by the news.

This fan believes the move suits everybody involved.
Fantastic deal for a player Klopp probably doesn’t fancy that much.
Great move for Brewster too playing with Zaha and Eze he should get lots of chances to score goals

It’s a win win, we may still see him back at Anfield in future.
I’d take that.
-If he flops, that’s £20-25m in our pocket.
-If he turns out good, that’s 12m paid to palace to develop him for us (He hasn’t got much chance for 1st team football here right now)
