Liverpool have been reserved in the transfer market until this week. The Reds had been patient, warning fans that marquee buys were unlikely. Jürgen Klopp told us that the financial impact of the global health crisis would curtail our recruitment plans. Turns out they’ve found a few million spare behind the sofa and everybody is made up about it. Adam Lallana and Lucas Leiva have reacted to Liverpool signing Thiago.
Liverpool sign Thiago
This summer is emerged that Thiago had told Bayern Munich that he wasn’t willing to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena as he entered the final year of his contract.
This led to a wave of rumours linking the playmaker with all and sundry, however, one club was linked more consistently than others.
Liverpool ended up signing one of the best midfielders in the world for just £20m plus £5m in bonuses, the fee to be paid throughout the duration of the player’s contract.
Lallana and Lucas react
There is something about Liverpool FC that gets under your skin. When you have played for the club for any period of time you tend to have an affinity for the people and the city. We have seen this consistently throughout history – Xabi Alonso said he’s raising his kids as Liverpool fans.
The Spaniard posted a series of photos of him in the Liverpool kit following his official announcement.
On one photo, Adam Lallana commented saying “what a signing”, wishing the player all the best.
Lucas Leiva joined in the celebrations, commenting “Good luck ace!! This club is amazing … enjoy every second.”
What RTK has to say
It is no surprise to see ex-Reds getting excited about this move.
Liverpool will benefit massively from the addition of Thiago. He will transform our approach play, he is a world class player.
It is also touching to see that former players are still so engaged and invested in how the side are doing.
Fingers crossed the Spaniard doesn’t let them down, we don’t expect him to.
