Liverpool look set to sign Thiago Alcantara in the coming days. The Spaniard has arrived at Melwood ahead of a £20m switch from Bayern Munich. Kopites are ecstatic and we imagine the player is as well; in the past Thiago has made it clear that he is aware of the magic of the Anfield crowd.
Liverpool to sign Thiago
All summer, Kopites have been on tenterhooks waiting to see if the club would pull off the signing of Thiago Alcantara.
Now it looks as though the deal we’ve all been waiting for will finally happen.
Paul Joyce has confirmed that Liverpool have a deal to sign Thiago for a fee of £20m plus £5m in bonuses.
Thiago on Anfield crowd
Back in 2019, Liverpool were due to take on Bayern Munich at Anfield in the Champions League knockout stages.
The Reds went on to draw the game 0-0 despite starting Fabinho and Dejan Lovren at centre back, marking Robert Lewangoalski.
We all know what happened in the return leg, if you need a refresher then you can see Sadio Mane terrorise Manuel Neuer here.
Speaking ahead of the Merseyside leg, Thiago said he expected to face “not just a great team but a great crowd”.

What RTK has to say
Just wait until those fans are back in the ground mate.
Thiago will be getting a rousing reception when he carves open the City defence with a pass that just isn’t there, leaving his old mate Pep in tears.
Ah, the thought of it.
Thousands of joyous Scousers dancing the salsa watching the greatest playmaker on earth thread the ball through to Sadio Mane.
