There are few players in the world who could break the internet with a move. Lionel Messi is obviously one, Cristiano Ronaldo another. Perhaps the most exciting move in football now will be the next one of the sport’s crown prince. According to The Times that move may not be far off with the paper claiming that Liverpool linked Kylian Mbappe has told PSG he wants to leave next summer.
Liverpool linked with Mbappe
For a couple of years now Liverpool have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe.
Back in February, Spanish outlet El Desmarque reported that Liverpool were one of four offers on the table for Mbappe.
Back in 2019 there were plenty of Kopites convinced that #Mbappe2020 would be the trend for the summer.
However, whether it is due to the impact of the global health crisis, or just the Reds not having the inclination, the move hasn’t materialised.
Mbappe puts PSG on notice
According to The Times, Mbappe has told PSG that he wants to leave the club at the end of the season.
The report claims that the youngster has his eyes set on a move to La Liga or the Premier League.
PSG will certainly demand an almighty fee for the youngster they signed for €180m.
However, given that the player’s contract expires in 2022, the club may be forced to be more reasonable or they run the risk of losing one of the most valuable players on the planet on a free.
What RTK has to say
Imagine if Liverpool signed Kylian Mbappe. It would be a massive statement of intent from FSG.
It would also make a tremendous amount of sense all things considered. He is still just 21-years-old, his resale value will be enormous even in eight or so years time. His marketability is through the roof.
However, the Reds will obviously have to contend with the likes of Real Madrid for his signature should he become available.
We’ll be following this one closely.
