Liverpool should bag Dominik Szoboszlai using Naby Keita transfer tactic

Liverpool don’t need to make any drastic changes to the playing staff this summer. The Reds have the strongest squad in the world and the trophy to prove it. The lack of urgency has been reflected in the quiet transfer activity this season, however, next summer could be a different story. As the Reds squad starts to age the 2021 summer could be vital. Liverpool should look at signing Dominik Szoboszlai using the same tactic that bagged Naby Keita.

Who is Dominik Szoboszlai?

Szoboszlai is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder playing for Red Bull Salzburg.

Liverpool fans may remember Dominik Szoboszlai from the Champions League group stages this season.

The Reds took on Red Bull Salzburg twice and the Hungarian playmaker played on both occasions.

Primarily a left midfielder, the Salzburg man is also regularly employed in central midfield and in front of the midfield.

Last season the youngster scored nine and assisted 14 in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Liverpool hunting Szoboszlai

The Mail reported in May that Liverpool were tracking Dominik Szoboszlai, claiming it would take around £26m to land the wonderkid.

At the minute the youngster is unlikely to break into the Reds’ midfield given how many players are already competing for a spot.

However, the club should consider mirroring their £48m move for Naby Keita and agree a deal a year in advance.

Liverpool arranging to bring in Szoboszlai in next season would be ideal for all involved.

Jürgen Klopp would be able to plan for his arrival and the Hungarian would continue to get regular first team football as opposed to having his growth stunted by spending too much time on the bench.

Next summer we can expect more decisive changes to the Reds’ starting XI as the club looks to fight against ending up like Barcelona with a squad ageing together on expensive wages.

Chelsea and Arsenal are thought to be interested in the set piece specialist, it would serve the club well to get this move wrapped up sooner rather than later.
