"A bargain" "End of Brewster": Liverpool fans debate targeting Patson Daka

This summer we expect Liverpool to add depth to the squad. Although time is running out before the start of the season it is believed that Jürgen Klopp will look to add some backup players to his first team with key areas currently understaffed. The boss has already found a deputy for Andy Robertson in the form of Kostas Tsimikas. Will he find cover for the front line? Liverpool fans have been debating Patson Daka and whether the Reds should sign him from RB Salzburg.

Who is Patson Daka?

Patson Daka was born in Chingola in Zambia, he is a 21-year-old forward playing for Red Bull Salzburg.

The Zambian signed a five-year-deal with Salzburg when he joined the club from Kafue Celtic following a successful loan spell at Salzburg’s feeder team Liefering.

Daka has gone from strength to strength since joining the Austrian side, last season banging in 27 goals in all competitions.

Should Liverpool sign Daka?

Liverpool signing Patson Daka makes plenty of sense on paper.

He is just 21-years-old and already has a wealth of first team experience for the recruitment team to analyse.

The Reds are also well aware of his abilities having seen him fire two past Alisson Becker in a pre-season friendly.

Daka is naturally a centre forward but can also play off either wing, meaning that he could bring the versatility that Jürgen Klopp values so highly.

Liverpool fans debate Daka

One Kopite believes the striker would be a bargain at £10m, though just where he’s gotten that figure from we don’t know.

The forward would be a ‘welcome addition’.

He would certainly cost less than Ismaila Sarr.

Would his arrival spell doom for Rhian Brewster?

Or would it be Divock Origi who suffers?

They must be putting something in the water in Salzburg.
