We’re just a couple of weeks away from the start of the Premier League season meaning that teams will be looking to get all of their ducks in a row as soon as possible. The Reds still have some business left to do, the looming prospect of Thiago remains and Jürgen Klopp will still be weighing up whether or not he needs a fourth choice centre back to replace Dejan Lovren. The club may yet have more outgoings with reports that Barcelona want Sadio Mane to replace Lionel Messi.
Messi transfer request
Lionel Messi is Barcelona. The greatest to ever do it has only ever played for the Catalan giants and many suspected he would retire there.
However, the world was stunned last week when the Argentina legend handed in a transfer request at the Camp Nou.
Given the issues the club faces at the moment it can come as no surprise that the forward is restless. Whether or not he does leave remains to be seen.

If Lionel Messi does leave the Spanish giants then they will have to bring in a pedigree replacement.

According to TMW (via Sport), Barcelona want Sadio Mane to replace Messi should the Argentine have his request granted.
The report claims that the Blaugrana would have to fork out around €120m for the Reds’ forward.
Liverpool fans react to rumours
It’s safe to say that some Kopites aren’t convinced by the reported fee.
120m? For his right leg?

Though there are supporters who are worried by the alleged interest.
I’m scared if we could lose Sadio Mane or Mo Salah to Barcelona. They could offer both players a high wage than they earned at Liverpool. 😭

And others who don’t think we’d even spend the money if we got it.
We could sell mane and still find a way to not spend the money

Is Barcelona really a destination anymore?
Losing their best players, boardroom upheaval and a manager who will be gone within the year. How tempting that must be

Or is Liverpool the place to be?
Barcelona no longer the big attractive club they once were
Liverpool players are now playing for the biggest club and don’t need to move
