New season, new kit and new kit supplier. The Reds have had some iconic kits down the years (the Candy kit is a personal favourite) and now it is Nike’s turn to outfit the famous Liverpool FC. It’s fair to say the home strip received mixed reviews, Kopites are equally divided on the new Liverpool away kit.

Nike not New Balance
This season will be the first year of Liverpool’s new record breaking kit deal with Nike.
The Reds signed the deal in January following a public split from New Balance which led to a court case after the incumbent manufacturers argued that they had a right to match Nike’s offer.
Although New Balance could match the up front fee they couldn’t compete on distribution and royalties.
Reds in blue
The new Liverpool away kit has raised some eyebrows not least because of the choice of a bright blue colour scheme.
The kit is said to be designed to pay homage the city’s music scene, history and the Shankly Gates – some aren’t so convinced of the resemblance.
Although a bue kit is a bit out there for a Liverpool side, who will care if we see the Reds winning in it?
Fans react to Liverpool away kit
One fan gave the new Liverpool away kit a big backing, saying it’s definitely one for the fans.
its FIRE to me 🔥 So much sauce! it was probably made for the fans more than the players lol pic.twitter.com/e0jX5UJZo3

Another Twitter user pointed out that football kits are fashion nowadays, why be boring?
soccer kits are fashion. people who don’t like this probably think a plain white kit looks good

It’s not to this tweeter’s taste but hopefully the kids will invest in them.
Not a fan but I think loads of kids will love it so could still sell well

This fan thought he recognised the shirt from somewhere…
Looks like a hawaian shirt your 50 Yr old dad would wear to dinner on your all inclusive holiday to butlins

The strip did get quite a thrashing in some corners.
This kit is up there with some of them Warrior kits as the worst I’ve seen us wear

Some fans may even just stick with the old New Balance gear.
If this is going to be the standard of kit I’ll keep wearing the New Balance one till if falls apart I think
