Liverpool didn’t have their greatest season in the domestic cups this year. The Reds were knocked out of the League Cup in the quarter finals and were dumped out of the FA Cup in the fifth round. However, both of these exits were understandable given the circumstances. Despite the cup disappointments Reds fans have had something to take away from this season’s tournaments: Curtis Jones has been awarded FA Cup Goal of the Season.
What a hit son
Curtis Jones bagged the FA Cup Goal of the Season for his strike against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.
The Scouser was a regular feature in the cups this season and his award winning goal in the derby was the clincher in a tightly contested affair.
It is a goal which will live long in the memory for Kopites. Not only was it a worldie, curled into the top corner, but it was also against the Blues, making it all the more sweeter.
More to come?
Aside from the goal being the winner and against the Ev, Curtis Jones’ FA Cup Goal of the Season also gave Kopites reason to believe that we may finally have our Next Gerrard.
For years Kopites idolised local hero Steven Gerrard for his ability to score wonder goals when we needed them most, by curling one into the top corner against the Ev in the cup Curtis Jones has shown that he has similar moments of magic in his locker, let’s just hope there’s more to come.

He had some strong competition for the crown but was applauded for not just ‘hitting hope’ like rival Ivan Toney.
