We don’t expect Liverpool to improve the starting lineup this summer. It would be incredibly difficult and incredibly costly for the Reds to shake up the first choice XI. There may be no signings at all. If there are any additions they will likely be youth players or plan B options, players who add variety. Goal have reported that Napoli could have to make room for Victor Osimhen, if that is the case then Liverpool should target Arkadiusz Milik.

At the minute the Reds are untouchable in the league. Jürgen Klopp’s side have recently been crowned Premier League champions in record time and much of this has been down to the infallibility of the first XI.

However, there have been some close run games throughout the season. Although the Reds have nearly always gotten over the line they have sometimes struggled against sides who have parked the bus and sat deep.

Jürgen Klopp’s side has struggled in these circumstances because there is no plan B. Divock Origi is the only alternative option up top and he isn’t exactly a typical target man, he just isn’t quite up to standard (unless it’s a major game).

The Reds could do with a target striker, a dominant presence in the air for when teams sit deep. A beacon for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s crosses. Liverpool could turn to Arkadiusz Milik.

According to Goal, Napoli could look to move the Polish striker on with the Italian side keen on Victor Osimhen. The outlet has reported that Tottenham and Juventus are interested in the 6ft 1in striker.

If Liverpool were to move for Arkadiusz Milik he would be a significant upgrade on Divock Origi. This season the Polish forward has netted 13 goals in 18 appearances in the league, last season he netted 17 goals in 27 starts and eight sub appearances.

Although Klopp can’t upgrade his first team he can certainly look at providing them with some variety, Milik would provide a more challenging presence in the box that the Reds are lacking when opponents shut up shop.
