Liverpool are close to signing Thiago from Bayern Munich, according to reports. The Reds need only negotiate payment.
This comes from Sport. The Spanish outlet claims that Liverpool and Thiago already have an agreement for a summer move. They say that Anfield ‘became his destination’ as soon as he decided to leave Bayern, with Jurgen Klopp a big fan.

It’s not all done, of course. Liverpool still need to negotiate a fee but that does sound relatively straight forward. Bayern want just under £32m and the Reds appear happy to pay that.
But they don’t want to pay that in one go. If Bayern insist on that figure then Liverpool will look for more ‘imaginative’ ways of paying it. Presumably, that means instalments and clauses.
Figure that out, though, and Sport firmly believes that Thiago will leave Bayern and be at Liverpool for next season.
What RTK has to say
It’s tricky to know how accurate this is. On the one hand, it doesn’t come from either English or German sources. If it were a Liverpool source, for instance, we’d feel pretty certain. We should say that Bild have mentioned Liverpool’s interest, though, as well as Klopp being a fan.
On the other, Sport is a Catalonian paper and Thiago forged his career in Barcelona. It’s perfectly understandable that they’d have a source with the player, then.
What does seem strange is Liverpool prioritising a 29-year-old. That’s not typically how they do business – not when spending a chunk of cash, anyway.

Still, Thiago is an excellent player and Liverpool don’t really have a technical, passing midfielder. He would certainly add an extra dimension.
Personally, we’d like to see this one happen. Whether it will, however, is still a little unclear. Certainly one to watch.
