Timo Werner has given Liverpool an important assurance over his future, according to reports. The Reds allegedly want the player but remain unsure on signing him.
The Guardian makes the claim. They say that Werner has told Liverpool that he will not make a final decision on his future until they’ve made their mind up.
We don’t know whether the Reds will move for Werner or not, though. They’d apparently love to bring the player in and Jurgen Klopp has told the board he’s ‘perfect’.
But on the other hand, the current economic climate leaves them unsure about his £52.7m release clause. That clause expires on June 15th, leaving Liverpool with two weeks before they have to negotiate with RB Leipzig.
Werner won’t head anywhere until he knows their position, however.

What RTK has to say
The ball’s in Liverpool’s court, then – but time isn’t quite on their side. Wait too long and that clause expires and Werner’s price may not drop to that level for another year.
They can make their decision in peace, though. A recent ESPN report claims that Manchester United want the player, for instance, but that isn’t a problem.
Usually, that would spark Liverpool into action as they don’t want Werner losing patience. Now, however, they can afford to wait and see – until the 15th, anyway.
Regardless of anything, this is good news. The Mirror recently said that the Reds had pulled out entirely but this contradicts that.
Instead, Werner might still have a future at Liverpool.
